Denver: The Original Pancake House

Image
Happy New Years Eve!

Last week, my girlfriends took me to The Original Pancake House in Denver. We waited 40+ minutes for brunch but it was well worth it. They had a really expansive menu ranging from green chile omelettes, apple waffle, to pumpkin pancakes.
I was set on the half order of pumpkin pancakes with butter and a side of sunny side up egg. Yum yum!
Definitely check out this place if you are in the DTC area!

OOTD - No mermaids

I'm a little disappointed I didn't see mermaids at the Denver Aquarium. Bummer! (Stay tuned for my post on the aquarium coming up on my Denver series.)

I'm wearing H&M coral jeans, Gap Maternity top and Cougar Ringo Star boots. Bracelet is from Bella vi.

Denver: Modern decor

Image
We finally went to our friend's place yesterday in downtown Denver. His house is sweet with three levels and ultra modern decor. I'm scared of their high stairs though.

Here's some modern inspiration for you:

OOTD - Post Christmas shopping

Image
My sister in law suggested taking the gals to lunch and shopping at Cherry Creek mall in Denver the other day. No need to tell me twice!

I'm wearing Martin + Osa jeans, thread 4 thought tee, Brass Plum Infiniti scarf and Cougar Ringo Star boots. These boots have kept me warm in Colorado. I definitely recommend them.

Ps.
The Colorado pictures included were snaps as we left my favorite mall.

Denver: Baker going out of business sale

Image
I spotted these beautiful heels at the Baker Going out of business sale at Cherry Creek mall in Denver. Everything was 50% off. I believe these beauties were only $28.

Hurry and snatch some shoes before they are gone.

Bummer their wedge sneakers weren't in my size!

Denver: Blossom of Lights

Image
Note: I thought I would share some Colorado highlights from this trip.

Last Friday, my sister in law and brother in law invited us to go to the Botanic Garden for the Blossom of Lights. I didn't know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised.

Imagine a beautiful snow filled garden with trees, archways, and paths lined up with Christmas lights galore. Surprisingly then 30 degree weather didn't keep the crowds away.

My pictures don't do this place justice. It's one of those you have to see it for yourself.

Hurry and go before January 1!

Madewell cords

Image
I fell in love with Madewell when I received a gift card from Birchbox and went crazy shopping last summer.

Right before Christmas, I went to Park Meadows mall here in Colorado to do last minute shopping.

After my quick stop to Lego and Gymboree, I went to Madewell. The staff their were so nice and helped me with my sizes. Losing the baby weight makes it hard to shop sometimes not knowing what size I am now.

I scored these awesome royal blue thin corduroys that were marked at $39.99. The store had a 30% off special plus 20% off for pants. Go me! I spent $21 something for my Madewell cords. I love good deals. Don't you?

Ps.
Use the code "BYEBYE" to score 30% off sale items and free shipping for $100+ on their site.

Bella Vi bling

Image
I attended Bella Vi Boutique's launch party a couple weeks ago and must say I like what they have done with the place. If you're a jewelry lover like me, you'll love the unique pieces they have.
I was able to get many on trend items like this bracelet/ring combo, silver mesh ring, gold-like necklace with ball pendant, and leather bracelet. One can never have enough arm candy.

Bella Vi can be found on instagram at bellaviboutique and at their store in Fountain Valley of course.

OOTD - Football & fun

Image
Merry Christmas Eve! Yesterday was filled with Broncos football, hot wings, Up movie, and lots of water This Colorado air is getting me good. I can't wait for Christmas Eve tonight with family. It'll be fun.

I'm wearing a Love on a hanger sweater (the lace cut out in the back is not a good choice for 34 degree weather!), Old Navy tank, Martin + Osa jeans, Go Jane wedge sneakers. Bracelet from Bella Vi boutique. Socks are from Uniqlo.

OOTD - Last minute Christmas shopping

Image
We checked out Park Meadows mall yesterday for some last minute Christmas shopping. I was able to snag some gifts for my friends' kids and a little something for myself. (Post coming soon!) On top of that, some guy hit on me Joey a la Friends style with a "hi, how you doing" swagger. Uh no!
I'm wearing a Uniqlo tee, Martin + Osa jeans, Brass Plum Infiniti scarf, and Go Jane wedge sneakers. Bracelet is from TJ Maxx.

Santouka Ramen

Image
I have to thank my brother for introducing me to Santouka Ramen at Mitsuwa Costa Mesa. They have the best karu miso ramen ever. The spicy broth ramen includes pork belly, green onions, waterear, and bamboo shoots. It goes well with a flavored egg.

If you're in the OC area, definitely check this place out. It's perfect for a cold winter-y day.

OOTD - Flashing lights

Image
I have that old Kanye West "Flashing Lights" song in my head as I write this. We went to the Denver Botanic Garden last night to see the Blossom of Lights (post coming soon!) so we had to dress warm as we walked around the garden.

I'm wearing H&M pink jeans, H&M striped tee, Cougar ringo star boots, Oakley puffer jacket, and Brass Plum Infiniti scarf.

Pho Thang Long

Image
A gem found by my brother and hubby is Pho Thang Long in Little Saigon. They have the best pho, in my humble opinion. It's not too oily and includes the perfect amount of noodles and meat. The ambiance at this restaurant suits my (high brow) hubby too. The restaurant has tall glass doors and orange booths to give a modern feel for an Asian restaurant.

For non-pho lovers, they have a great selection of rice dishes. My parents have tried the seafood with vegetable stir fry and I've tried the rice with filet mignon beef. The price is reasonable too.  Just watch out for parking on the weekends since this plaza gets packed.

Hope you have a chance to check out this yummy Vietnamese restaurant in Westminster!

OOTD - 30 degrees

Image
I wish 30 degrees was a fancy new restaurant but no, it's how cold Colorado is when I last checked my iPhone weather. Eeks! I do not do well in the cold. With barely a  drawer of long sleeve tops, I hope I stay warm during the holidays.

I'm wearing Brass Plum leggings (similar), Gap Maternity top (similar), and Cougar Ringo Star boots (link). Bracelets are from Bella Vi and TJ Maxx. Watch is Omega.

OOTD - Flower love

Image
Don't you love when you find something in your closet you haven't worn in ages and remembered how much you loved it? That's how I felt about this top.

I'm wearing a unnamed top (similar), William Rast for Target jeans (similar),  BearClaw boots (link), Old Navy jacket (similar). Bracelets are from New Mexico.

OOTD - Instagram boo boo

Image
Happy Wednesday! Yesterday the twitterverse was all abuzz about Instagram's new privacy policy. I have these web pages open on my iPhone and thought I'd share:

5 Instagram Alternatives (via Fast Company)
11 Instgram Alternatives (via Huffington Post)
How to Download your Instagram photos and kill your account (via Wired)

I'm still undecided how I feel if they want to share user's photos. The updated note last night tried to assure users "it is not our intention to sell your photos". I doubt pictures of fluffy clouds, kids playing, outfits and food close ups would sell that much anyways.
I'm wearing a Opening Ceremony Uniqlo men's sweater (similar), Xhiliration striped tee (similar), and Madewell high rise jeans (similar). Boots are from Bearclaw (link).
