2014 Recap

Happy New Year everyone! Most bloggers are doing favorite outfits of 2014 but I saw a blogger do highlights of the year and was reminded of something I used to do on my other blog where I would recap the year in a few sentences.

Hope you had a great 2014 and cheers to an amazing 2015!

PS.
If I had time I would get these cookies for New Year's Eve party but check out these awesome captions.

Lift , tone and burn at Pure Barre OC

Image
If you follow my @SunnyNBlueBlog instagram, you probably saw some photos from my Pure Barre OC workouts. I  finished two weeks of classes recently with the Pure Barre Newport Beach and Huntington Beach studios earlier this month.

I love group classes and have tried kickboxing, yoga and spinning in the past but have always wanted to try Pure Barre.  A Pure Barre class is not like anything I've tried before. It's cardio but really fun. I noticed a lot of moves based on yoga and ballet during my workouts. During my time at the Pure Barre OC studios, I loved the sense of camaraderie among fellow students and instructors. The classes feel like a little community for an hour.

Some highlights:
They have the cutest workout gear. If the headbands, sports bra and  clothing doesn't make you want to work out, I don't know what will. Pure Barre also carries their own apparel line as well.

The bar work kicked my butt. Holding a ball between your thighs seems easy but made my thig…

SEE Eyewear

Image
I have loved aviator sunglasses ever since I first saw Angelina Jolie rock them. It's such a classic and timeless style that lasts all seasons.

I finally had a chance to get a pair at SEE Eyewear at Fashion Island, Newport Beach.

SEE Eyewear's store at Fashion Island has this sleek interior design with eyeglasses and sunglasses so meticulously displayed. They offer a variety of styles available from my favorite tortoise shell to black frames. The  sunglasses are priced at $99 and their core collection is priced at $159. The styles for men and women are all handmade in Europe and the United States.

Shoe Crush

Image
I haven't done a shoe crush in awhile, but my ultimate favorite is SJP Alison Bootie in Luggage color. This neutral color is perfect with boyfriend jeans or a nice midi skirt. It's the perfect shoe to elevate an outfit.

Did you know the shoes are made in Italy and Sarah Jessica Parker has been approved before to do a shoe line over the last decade and finally found a partner with Nordstrom? I thought that fact was interesting.

Holiday Wish List for Orangewood Children's Foundation

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to volunteer with my dad's Gawad Kalinga e-Rotary club at Orangewood Children's Foundation in Santa Ana. We made lunch and gifts plus arranged Santa Claus for a visit with the kids. I was humbled by seeing all the foster kids and their parents. Seeing all the generosity of toys, bikes, and items donated was eye opening. I was able to donate a big train set and hopefully it makes a little boy or girl happy this Christmas.

According to the Web site, Orangewood Children's Foundation's core efforts are

Earlier this week, I was fighting a cold and feeling grey so thought why not match the part. Monochromatic dressing is so easy and I love how I look so tall. I love grey!

Rachel Zoe fall fashion show at South Coast Plaza

Image
Rachel Zoe at South Coast Plaza. It's like a dream come true! Nine weeks ago, I attended a fall fashion show and Rachel Zoe was the host providing commentary on the trends. Some takeaways: she loves fur, she thinks we need a coat because it gets cold in California, and she hopes to have a store someday in South Coast Plaza. Yay!

I included my favorites from the runway show. Enjoy!
Gucci: I absolutely love black and white - especially this schoolgirl vibe.
Max Mara: Rachel Zoe has me convinced on fur. I dig this mysterious look.
Salvadore Ferragamo: Stay gold in this ensemble. The furry bag is a nice touch.
Brunelllo Cucinello: An evening gown with pockets, yes please! If I were a tall model, I would rock this dress.
Roberto Cavalli: This red dress with fur detail exudes pure sexiness. Love this for a fashion night out.
Lanvin: Love the simple styling of a fur vest with black slacks. Pure genius yet so elegant.  A fashion show isn't complete without watching it with bl…
