strawberry cream cheese croissants - Vie de France

If you follow my ShopSereneSky Instagram, you know I love dessert and carbs! I discovered something yummy at Vie de France in South Coast Plaza. It's the strawberry cream cheese croissant . It is a mix of sweet and tart that go so well together. I miss the apple croissants they discontinued and so happy I found a replacement. Definitely check it out!

Relationships take work. Always make time with your hubby or sweetheart.  I had  happy hour date night with the hubby last weekend. The Winery is such a cute place.

Editor note: I interviewed blogger, fashion designer and video producer Renee Rogers. She's all around awesome.

Tell me about yourself.

I've been in the fashion industry for awhile. I attended FIDM and started out designing for Anchor Blue. With the rocky economy at the time, I decided to create something of my very own, which ended up being my style site, I sought to highlight other designers and artists by filming interviews with them about their unique career paths and taking a peek inside their closets to discover their favorite pieces. With the success of these videos I began to have more opportunities filming for brands and other fashion related companies. I then started a small production company, Blythe Films. where I work with a film crew in creating content such as video lookbooks or photoshoot behind-the-scenes videos.

Having always known I would one day start designing a line of my own, I then created 16th Colony, which is a Califor…

OOTD - I love LA

Happy Sunday funday! Hope your long weekend is going well. I played the good niece last week and took my uncle, mom and gals to the Getty. I love it there. I can just relax in that garden all day long. I thought I would match my surroundings by wearing this nature inspired outfit.

Tinto de Verono

I honeymooned in Spain 8 years ago and my college girlfriend who lived in Madrid introduced us to a local drink there. Tourists usually order sangria while locals have tinto de verona. It's simply half red wine and half orange Fanta with ice. You can also add fruit too. It's such a refreshing summer drink. You should definitely try it! Yummy!

Happy Friday! I almost forgot about last week's heatwave. I remember wearing this crop top and shortalls to survive not melting. It totally brings me back to 90's fashion. Yay!

Fashon profile: Karen Cayetano

Editor note: I met Gail from Cayetano Legacy at a Filipino Chamber of Commerce event recently. I had the chance to interview her sister, Karen, who heads up design of Cayetano Legacy. It's always great to know fellow Filipina entrepreneurs.

Tell me about yourself. I've always wanted to be in fashion, so after graduating college (Seton Hall University with a Management Information Systems degree) I immediately started applying for jobs in NYC at larger fashion brands.  I was lucky enough to work with some great teams at various companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, Children's Place, etc.  At the same time, I've always created my own jewelry.  When my two sisters and I brought up the idea of going into business together, it was right around a family trip to the Philippines.  On that trip we saw these beautiful, vibrant stones sourced there in the PI, and we met these inspiring women artisans who were hand crafting bold necklaces using these stones and various material.  I imm…
