Shoe crush

I was browsing at South Coast Plaza this week to escape the heat and spotted these cute shoes while shopping at Forever 21. These tribal inspired loafers would be perfect for pre-fall and fall. You can style it with boyfriend jeans and white tee for a casual off duty look. They are at a steal at $14.80. What do you think?

OOTD - Stars and Stripes

Happy Friday! It's been so hot in Southern Cali. Whooee, my phone said 90 in Newport Beach yesterday.

I wore this stars and stripes outfit when I went to a fashion event at Fashion Island a week or so ago. I can't wait to post photos and share my post recapping the Out Incorporated x Too Faced Cosmetics event fashion fitness and beauty hosted by my new friend Jennifer Chan.

OOTD - jump jump

If rompers are an easy go to outfit then jumpsuits are their cousins. I love this jumpsuit and have worn it to countless meetings. One of my go to pieces in my closet!

OOTD - black dress

I love finding something in the closet that you had forgotten about. This is how I feel about this cotton black dress. It has amazing details like a zipper in front and bow at the bust. I thought I would make it look comfy with some sandals.

OOTD - love red

What do you wear for an instant outfit? I like monochromatic colors. I decided on red for an day of meetings and work sessions the other week.

OOTD - flower gal

When you don't know what to wear, always wear a maxi dress. I think it's the best way to look put together. I paired it with a cardigan and capelli band from Serene Sky Boutique for an instant outfit for church and shopping at South Coast Plaza.

Peace and love y'all!

Happy anniversary to my hubby! Muahh!

Washington: OOTD - Seattle inspired

Here is my Seattle inspired outfit as I traveled back to Orange County. This flannel was great on the flight as it often gets chilly while flying.

What do you wear while flying?

Washington: OOTD - black & white on lake

I'm off to LA this morning! Can't wait.

Rewind back to my Washington trip. I changed into this black and white number after an early morning  of oyster tours in Grapeview and pigging out at a private lunch with the sous chef of Xinh's Clam & Oyster House in Shelton.  If you are in Washington, you have to go to Xinh's. The best Asian fusion seafood I have ever tried. Even my chef sister in law loved it. I wish I took photos but was too busy enjoying myself.

Washington: OOTD - romper

Happy Friday readers!

Don't you just love sunsets? The golden hour is the best. I loved watching sunsets on the lake with family and a glass of wine. What do you like to do on vacation?

Romper: Cotton on / Sunglasses: Sunglass Warehouse / Sneakers: Peter Pilotto for Target / Sunset at: Trails End Lake

Washington: OOTD - hiking

If you know me, I'm more of a city gal so when the family asked who wants to go hiking. I said sure. Hubby laughed at me that I wore jeans and wanted to carry my giant purse. Sorry I didn't bring my REI gear. Ha!

Washington: OOTD - remix red

After two days in Seattle, we drove almost two hours to Union and made a little home at Trails End Lake. It was my first vacation having a cabin right on the lake. Soo cool!

I thought I would remix my red shorts since it was so hot.  My first day was spent drinking wine and enjoying cheese and crackers with family.

Washington: OOTD - summer red

Happy Tuesday! Outfit posts are back! Curious what I wore on my vacation in Washington? I'll share some outfits perfect for traveling and sightseeing.

I thought I'd bring my flannel to fit in with that Seattle flannel look. Ha! We explored the Children's Museum, Olympic Sculpture Garden, and had din at my brother in law's house.

Barefoot Bowls

Happy Monday! If you follow me on Instagram at shopserenesky or sunnynblueblog, you've probably heard about my new acai bowl spot I found on yelp called barefoot bowls.

The small is $4.95 and comes with fresh ingredients like blueberries, strawberries, goji berries, granola. I even substituted almond milk and coconut one time.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8

I have been intrigued by my Serene Sky intern's camera since seeing it on instagram and when she brought it over to take a picture.

I found the camera on Amazon. The Instax Mini 8 is basically a cooler Polaroid than yesteryear. The camera body is updated, super sleek and comes in different girly colors to choose from. I think it's great that a film camera is in style again in the day of Instagram, iPhones, and digital cameras. What do you think?

I can't live without my..

Rosebud salve. I have one in my make up counter, bag and car. It's all natural so I don't mind over applying it before lip color or night time. My four year old loves it too!
Get this awesome lip saver at Sephora when you're in the check out line. It is perfect for chapped lips.

PS. I'm so excited for BeautyCon today. Hooray!

Warby Parker

Happy Friday! Hope you're having a great week. I have been a big fan of Warby Parker ever since I learned about the brand from my New York nephew. My hubby, brother and I all have Warby Parker eyeglasses and have loved this brand for a while.

I  recently did a home try on program to check out some cool sunglasses and eyeglasses.  Check out these looks on my petite oval face. What do you think? Do you have a favorite?

Halford in Polished Gold - When I wear aviators, I immediately think of Angelina Jolie. It's such a classic style that will never go out of style. These are my absolute favorite. It's a perfect pair of sunglasses to wear while I was running errands.
Quimby in Absinthe - The green frame gives a great pop of color. I love the slight cat eye look. I would totally rock these at a day at the beach.

Mabel in Greystone - This sunglasses were the most glam of the ones I tried on. I loved that it fit on my nose. It was a great pair to wear to wear to work or to me…

Tech Thursday

Hope you enjoyed my Tech Thursday post a couple weeks ago. Here's a new Tech Thursday tidbit today.

I absolutely love Instagram and actually have three accounts - family, blogger and boutique. Please follow me at @sunnynblue and @shopserenesky.

I have several apps I use to prep my photo posts such as:
Whitagram - to fit the square size of your photo without having to crop it, get this app.

Photogrid - if you have a lot of photos that you want to put in a collage, this is a great and easy to use app.

Photorepost - if you want to regram a great photo and quote it, this is a great app to use.

Flipagram - have you seen those cool photo collages that automatically scroll through photos with music too? This app does the trick.

Instagrab - This app allows you to regram videos that you like.

PS Express - This is an awesome Photoshop mini version. You can auto enhance photos and rotate them. There are also built in filters too, which by the way I'm not a believer of filters. I prefer auto e…

Skirt crush

You've heard of my shoe crush but here is my skirt crush. I stumbled upon this metallic pleated midi skirt online somewhere and have been thinking about it ever since. What a great pre-fall/fall item this would be in my closet. I would style it with a black crop top or black tee and leather blazer. I could even do a white tank. I imagine so many possibilities. Get it at Asos and buy me one too! Happy Wednesday all!

What a sad week for Robin Williams family, friends and fans! I tweeted when I heard the news from my mom. I loved him as Genie, Mrs. Doubtfire and Mork. What a comedic genius! Rest in peace, Robin! Love, a lifelong fan

Bare Minerals Bare Skin foundation

I recently tried the new Bare Minerals Bare Skin foundation. It's a foundation mixed with a serum. It provides buildable coverage and is long lasting especially during a recent heat wave in Orange County. I'm wearing #11 Latte. I recommend it if you're looking for a foundation serum. You can get it at Sephora for $29.

Have fun  beauty shopping!
