Skin Laundry

Image
Happy New Years Eve! How will you end 2015 tonight? We have been in Temecula all week for a staycation and loving it.

Last week, my sister and I tried a new beauty treatment at Skin Laundry in Fashion Island. The first treatment was free so we definitely had to try it.

First, we get a make up remover pad to remove our make up except eye make up. Then, we fill out our first name to sign in. Next, I was directed to a room asking about skin and medical history to ensure no complications or contradictions. I lay down on a bed kind of like a dentist chair but you're laying down. The nurse applies goggles on you and then explains the treatment. A light laser is applied all over the face with the nurse warning you which area she will apply. The feeling is like tiny needle pinches but  they don't hurt. After the laser, the nurse applies a cooling gel all over the face and then a bright light is applied all over your face. The nurse explains that this helps with hyperpigmentation which…

Bread Crumb Ohana Cafe

Happy Wednesday!

You know I love brunch and I have had this Huntington Beach spot on my Yelp bookmarks for a while. I was so glad when my brother and friend Lindsey suggested Bread Crumb Ohana Cafe.

I have been eagerly wanting to try the Hawaiian Bread French Toast. I got the Ohana Special which includes eggs, bacon and hash browns. The portions were huge and delicious. The service was great too. I can't wait to go back to try other Hawaiian inspired brunch items.

Sephora Deep Plum Luster. I first wore this lip color last October for a wedding and love wearing it when I want a bold 90's lip. This Sephora lipstain lasts all day and such a perfect berry color.

The Broad

Hope you had a Merry Christmas last week!

Two weeks ago, my brother and  his friend had an extra ticket for The Broad in downtown Los Angeles. Since I was in LA anyways and didn't want to hit traffic , I thought why not go. I didn't know what to expect as I hadn't read up on The Broad except for seeing a few Instagram pictures online. I was pleasantly surprised at this modern museum in the middle of downtown.

I snapped my favorite art pieces while walking around The Broad. My favorite was Takashi Murakami’s massive eighty-two-foot-long painting, In the Land of the Dead, Stepping on the Tail of a Rainbow.  I learned that this artwork reflects the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
Hope you enjoy the photo gallery!

Poqet Donuts

Image
Merry Christmas Eve!

On a recent trip to Irvine, I dropped by a new spot called Poqet Donuts. This cute bakery has different flavors of donuts from nutella, tiramisu, lemon meringue, green tea, peanut butter and jelly, to  blueberry. I decided to try the campfire (s'more) flavor and create our own.

Creating our own donut was fun! We choose the type of donut and there were several types of icing you could put on top. We decided on vanilla and then wanted to do half holiday sprinkles and half rainbow sprinkles. Other toppings available included almonds, blueberries, blackberries and other fun items.

The donuts were nice and moist. I loved how fresh the donuts tasted. We definitely ate them in a few minutes after snapping a photo. I cannot wait to return and make more donuts.

Din Tai Fung

The hype is real. I tried Din Tai Costa Mesa finally.
We ordered the famous soup dumplings. It was neat dipping the Pork XiaoLongBao in a sauce mixture of soy sauce, vinegar and ginger. To compliment the soup dumplings, we ordered sauteed spinach with garlic and shrimp & pork wontons with spicy sauce.
Everything was delicious - the service, decor, and food. I can't wait to go back again and try other offerings from their vast menu.

Laneige BB Cushion

Image
I love reading about Korean beauty products and skincare routines.
A few months ago, I read great reviews of Laneige BB Cushion and bought it from Target . The "Broad-spectrum SPF 50 blocks harmful UVA/UVB rays, while skin perfecting Optimal Mineral Water cools and hydrates upon application".
To apply it, you use the round and push into the cushion to release the color. Then you dap it on your face.  It's an immediate cooling feeling . You continue applying it all over your face. The nice this about the product is it doesn't build up. What you notice afterwards is a smooth dewy coverage after application. I love using this when I don't want to wear foundation. For my tan skin, I got the medium color. This line is available at your local Target.

#TryDry: Dove Dry Spray

Image
It seems like every morning I rush out of the shower with only a few minutes to get ready and out the door.
Being a working mom, I have so much to do like  taking care of the family and getting work done as a freelancer , entrepreneur, and blogger. Every day is different. I could be in meeting, attending a blogger event, working from home, planning a photo shoot, or meeting with my team members.

I recently tried the Dove Cool Essentials Dry Spray Antiperspirant in Cool Cucumber. What I liked about the antiperspirant was it didn’t get on my clothes especially since I like wearing black and dark colors. It also applied dry and quickly. It kept me fresh all day and the label even says it lasts 48 hours.
I definitely recommend this Dove Dry Spray. It is a perfect product to add to your morning rush.

(Editor’s Note: I partnered with Influenster and received the Unilever Dry Spray & Walgreens VoxBox. The Dove products were complimentary for testing  purposes.)

Blogger Pizza Party with Blaze Pizza Fashion Island and Kimberly Luu

Image
What's better than pizza? A blogger pizza party at Blaze Pizza Fashion Island.

My favorite Orange County blogger Kimberly Luu from According To Kimberly invited me to a cozy luncheon a few weeks ago. I got to try Blaze Pizza at Fashion Island.

The concept is great for someone who wants something yummy and quick. When you arrive, you check out the available toppings and pick out what you would like. I did half cheese and half spinach and mushroom. In a matter of minutes, the pizza is ready for you. For dessert, I had a fresh s'more cookie that reminded me of my times camping or beach bonfires.

Blaze Pizza is conveniently located next to Lemonade in Fashion Island. It's perfect for a weekday lunch or holiday bite during weekend Christmas shopping.

Before Thanksgiving, Kimberly from According To Kimberly invited me to a blogger brunch at OPM Huntington Beach. I was so excited to try this spot after seeing the yummy food on Instagram. Everything was amazing from the food, decor, and service. My favorite was the seafood tower. The interior decor is perfect for any Instagram fan to snap photos there.
