Turtle Rock Nature Center

Image
"Never stop exploring."

I was in need of some mother nature last week and researched Orange County parks. I discovered the Turtle Rock Nature Center. The description talked about nature walks, native plants, labryinths, and trails. Sold!

The drive to Turtle Rock itself felt like an adventure with hilly roads and tall trees. It definitely got you in the mood for adventure. Upon arriving, you arrive at a park with tennis courts but follow the signage for the Turtle Rock Nature Center. You enter a building that has some small displays and exhibits and pass a door to go outside. Wow, you stumble upon this beauty. There were different signs for different paths and you just take which ever one suits you. They all end up merging. I loved this wooden bridge and small waterfall and creek. The sound of water definitely relaxes you. Definitely check out this cute nature center!

Sessions West Coast Deli Debuts New Breakfast Menu

Image
Last Sunday, I was invited to Sessions West Coast Deli Breakfast Menu Media Tasting in downtown Huntington Beach. Local food bloggers and influencers were in attendance to sample the new breakfast menu.

Sessions West Coast Deli is a West Coast inspired deli serving unique sandwiches with locations in Newport Beach and Huntington Beach. Their mission is to serve the best sandwiches to ever hit the lip. They proudly boast a scratch kitchen with housemade sauces, sides, salads and soups prepared daily. Sandwiches are made to order with fresh local produce, naturally raised meats, and locally baked bread from OC Baking Company. To compliment breakfast, a selection of locally roasted coffee beverages from Kean Coffee are served.

Following is an overview of Sessions’ new breakfast menu to be offered daily at both locations: BREAKFAST SANDWICHES THE AL CAPP – A nod to our neighbor Al Cappuccino in Newport – an everything bagel topped with cream cheese, freshly sliced cucumber and tomato and to…

Temecula Wineries

Image
If you follow me on Snapchat and Instagram, you may remember I went on an awesome family staycation in Temecula during the holidays last year. On my to do list was to visit the Temecula wineries. My hubby and I went with my sister in law and had such a great time. I'll be featuring the two small wineries we visited below. Enjoy!

Keyways Winery:
Driving to the wineries makes you feel like you are transported to a slower and simpler time. We immediately were drawn to Keyways Vineyard & Winery as it looked like a cozy winery to check out. The building and grounds were beautiful and romantic. The indoor tasting room was cozy. We were immediately greeted and invited to do a tasting. We tried a variety of wines like their Tempranillo, Reserve Viognier, Moscato, and Riesling.

The Tempranillo was my favorite. This red wine was bold with aromas of black fruit and hints of leather and spice. It would be perfect with a steak or cheese.

Happy Friday people! How do you wear a summer outfit in the winter? Pair it with over the knee boots and a cardigan of course.
I wore this casual outfit last Sunday for two birthday celebrations - my girlfriend's son first birthday and hubby's birthday. It was a perfect outfit to cheer on the Broncos victory too! Yay!

Last week, I attended Newport Beach Restaurant Week's Media Preview night at Balboa Bay Resort. It was a cozy event with five amazing Newport Beach restaurants offering samples of prix fixe meals and showcasing delectable bites.

Newport Beach Restaurant Week is celebrating "10 years of Good Taste" and produced by Dine Newport Beach and Newport Beach Restaurant Association. The longest running restaurant week in Orange County runs January 18 through January 31, 2016. There are four price points for lunch ($10, $15, $20 or $25) and dinner ($20, $30, $40, or $50).

Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation.

Image
My sister gifted me Josie Maran's Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation. I absolutely love this product. It's perfect for the weekend when I want light foundation coverage. I also find it amazing that it comes out white from the pump and when you put it on your skin with a brush it matches to my tan skin automatically (my color is medium/dark). Talk about magic! It also has argan oil and feels light when you wear it. I absolutely love this and you will too.

Bhan Kanom Thai

Image
Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend!
I'm following up on my Thaitown blog post last week and sharing a Thai dessert place my friends and I found in Hollywood called Bhan Kanom Thai. This small store sells all kind of imported and fresh Thai desserts. I only had a few minutes to decide on something while we were waiting for our car from the valet.
I decided on ice cream. My brother got taro and coconut while I got mango and coconut ice cream. It was affordable at $4 for two flavors.  Not pictured is my colorful coconut candy and his rice cake filled with taro. Both were delicious!
I definitely recommend this spot if you have a sweet tooth like me.
