OOTD - Fringe Action

Happy Monday and happy leap year day! My birthday month will officially be over. It was a great birthday with friends and family. Yay!

I styled this outfit the other weekend for a sushi dinner with the family. I love the fringe action of this look, don't you? It's so feminine and boho chic at the same time.

Beach Plum Kitchen

Happy Friday pretties! Take me back to this yummy brunch at Beach Plum Kitchen in Carlsbad please. If you caught what I wore at my girlfriend's baby shower in yesterday's blog post, this is what we at at brunch with all the ladies!

White sangria
Raspberry mascarpone french toast, coffee cake, two eggs sunny side up, breakfast potatoes and chicken apple sausage

Oh my gosh, everything was delicious! I wish they had this restaurant in Orange County. I would definitely brunch here all the time. The decor of this restaurant was cute with tones of hot pink and grey. The service was great too. They were so attentive and helpful for our party. Their griddle section alone was to die for. I saw strawberry shortcake pancakes to lemon ricotta pancakes.

If you're ever in Carlsbad, definitely check out this yummy restaurant!

OOTD - Baby Shower Brunch

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of driving to Carlsbad for my friend's baby shower. It was great to reunite with my college bestie Stacie and celebrate Michelle's new baby boy.

I love a good statement skirt so thought I would wear this colorful silk skirt I bought from my favorite Laguna Beach boutique. It seemed girly and appropriate for an all women's baby shower brunch.

PS. Stay tuned for a review of what we ate at Beach Plum Kitchen!

OPI Dark Side of the Mood
Happy Wednesday lovelies! The week is almost over. I thought I'd share my favorite manicure colors this year. What nail colors are you loving? Are you into the minimal nail art?

Leaf N Cream

I checked out a new tea and ice cream spot in Tustin last week thanks to Yelp. This cute dessert cafe had  minimal decor and the standard Jenga and Uno for young people.  I was craving some tea so tried The Bee's Knees. It's a mix of vanilla chai and almond milk tea. It was definitely refreshing! I had forgotten about almond milk tea and loved this familiar flavor. I can't wait to come back and check out the macaron ice cream sandwiches.

Definitely check out this tea and dessert spot!

5 Faves from NYFW FW 2016

It's the end of New York Fashion Week FW 2016. It was fun watching snaps of the runway shows this month. There were a few memorable looks so I thought I would highlight my favorites and why.

When I first saw this dress , I immediately thought 💃. I love the details of this red dress from the floral to the tulle. The volume alone makes it a "look at me" dress that's perfect for the red carpet. Just wow; I can stare at this dress all day.

The Marc Jacobs show is one I look forward to every season. He usually ends NYFW. His shows and sets are always so  unique and exquisite . Models walked a round perimeter to the ding sound found on iPhones. The beauty look was so dramatic and theatrical ; it only elevated the looks even more. I love dark colors and this mix of feathers and textures screams moody and dark.

Favorite necklaces

As you may or may not know, I manage an online fashion boutique called Serene Sky Boutique. My shop is influenced by California and highlights emerging designers. I love incorporating our jewelry from Gena Myint and Liz Henry into my outfits. Here are my favorite necklaces!

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Lipsticks

I have been a fan of Gwen Stefani since her No Doubt days in the 90's. I was so excited to try her new lipsticks at my local Ulta.

My favorites are Rocksteady and 714. They are the perfect red for a bold lip. Rocksteady is a burgundy red while 714 is an orange red lipstick. I love that these colors have a lot of pigment and are creamy. You don't need to touch up as often and aren't as drying as some other lipsticks.

Which color is your favorite?

Blackbird Cafe

Good morning! My fellow birthday girl Lan wanted to meet up last week so I suggested brunch at Blackbird Cafe in Long Beach . It was a perfect mid-way spot between Orange County and Los Angeles.

Blackbird Cafe was a cozy cafe with an outdoor patio. The breakfast menu looked amazing. I'll have to go back to try other items.

She ordered the BLT and I got their delicious Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. It was a generous serving of six halves topped with bananas, raisins and homemade icing. I could only finish half.

If you're ever in the Long Beach area, definitely check out this cute cafe filled with local art.

OOTD - Sea World

Happy Friday babes! So happy it's Friday! It's been one crazy and interesting week. Take me back to Sea World please.
I had such a fun day in San Diego last Saturday for my birthday weekend. Sea World is my favorite place. I'm sad we didn't get to see a Shamu show but hopefully on my next visit. I love the penguins and polar bears too! Hope you enjoy some photos from our fun family day!

We saw these Filipina dancers doing the Pandanggo sa Ilaw - a popular folk dance in the Philippines. It was interesting they included this in the Lunar New Year show because Filipinos don't typically celebrate Lunar New Year. Check out the dance on Youtube.

OOTD - Dance with Donna

Last Friday, I celebrated my birthday at Mesa with some friends. I wish I took photos with everyone but it's always best to live in the moment. It was such a great night dancing with friends and catching up. No wonder I love birthdays!
