Friday is for fashion

I sooo can't wait for Friday night! I will be attending the Debut 2008 fashion show and gala event with my lil' brother at the Santa Monica Hangar to see designs for graduating FIDM students. His friend has been on a caffeine rush with no sleep just to finish her designs. I sooo can't wait or did I say that already?! Stay tuned for pix! Hope I can bring my camera in. There is a cool store in Fountain Valley that my brother and I love supporting. Owned by Kiro, African Corner has great merchandise from t-shirts, beanies, jewelry, incense and more. My purchases include bracelets and beanies galore. My absolute favorite is this beaded lavendar bracelet with cross charm. I highly suggest visiting African Corner. Kiro's energy just radiates and energizes you! More info: African Corner, 16511 Brookhurst St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Pouty pink lips

Now that my lips aren't chapped anymore from being sick, it's nice to go back to my Burt's Bees lip balm and Smashbox O-GLOSS. I'm not a fan of sticky lip glosses or matte lipstick and that's why I love this new Smashbox lip gloss. It gives me a natural pink hue due to their "exclusive Goji Berry-C Complex(TM)". Topped w/ Chanel's Nude lip liner and I'm all set to go! More info: Smashbox O-GLOSS available at Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm available at CVS or

Missin' Boracay

As I sit here this Saturday morning resting from a cold, I can't help but reminisce about my Boracay trip last month. So what is Boracay, you ask? I call it the Hawaii of the Philippines. Imagine an gorgeous island with white sands, clear blue water, and sunny skies. I enjoyed this friendly island's beaches, Mt. Luho viewpoint, butterfly farm, and cuisine. There is touristy area called D'Mall - a beachside strip full of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops. It was there that I had an affordable culinary adventure. Here are some highlights: Mango oatmeal cookie at Lemon Cafe - Ate a soft and chewy oatmeal cookie with bits of mango infused with it. Pineapple banana shake at Waling Waling Beach Hotel - The bartender blended me a shake better than any Jamba Juice or Juice It Up one I've ever tried. It was the perfect swirl of pineapple, banana, and ice mixed together for a smooth crisp cool taste. Lobster and clams at Paradiso Grill - Recommended by Jane at Boracay Hills, shes

Birthday club

Happy birthday to me! Before heading to dinner tonight, I celebrated by getting a free ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins since I'm part of their birthday club . The winter white chocolate was delish. You can't beat white chocolate, chocolate covered cherries, and cherry syrup. It's like a lighter version of Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia. Yum!

Yesterday's Hillary Clinton rally at Cal State LA drew a star studded crowd like America Ferrera and Sally Field along with elected officials like LA Councilwoman Janice Hanh, LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina, State Controller John Chiang, and State Assembly Speaker Fabien Nunez. I was among 7,500 supporters cheering her on in an outside rally. Check out a few pix below and check out the fashionable campaign 2008 wear:
