Osteria Mozza

I first tried Pizzeria Mozza w/ my hubby a few months back as evidenced by my blog.

We've been wanting to go back to Osteria Mozza, but this time, I went to this restaurant to celebrate a girlfriend's recent engagement. My friend and I couldn't wait to hear the story and see the ring. Ooh la la!

The food was great, yet I wish the service was better. The host and waitress kept reminding us that they had to have the table back by 8:45pm. My girlfriends didn't even get asked if they wanted dessert. Poor them.

My Fresh Ricotta & Egg Raviolo with browned butter was delish. I can never pass up egg yolk. Mmm!

Fire Safety Tips

It’s been about a month since my family and I survived a house fire. It's been a roller coaster of ups and downs. I feel optimistic and very thankful to survive and recover from my injuries. We have been blessed by family, friends, colleagues, and the community for the generosity and support we have received. Our firefighters told me most fires occur in the kitchen or bedroom, either started by electrical or candle. Racist Episodes

Upon reflecting on racism in my life, a few key episodes stick out in my mind. Denmark - My first encounter with racists was in high school when I stayed with a home stay family. They made me feel unwelcome for being an Asian American and kept saying they wish they got an American student, but in my mind I was an American study. They kept inquiring where was I from & I said I’m from California. I complained to the group chaperone and was quickly switched to a more welcoming home stay family and able to have a better experience. Denver - I was on a date with my boyfriend/now husband waiting for our table at a restaurant. I noticed subtle racist Behavior when a white couple who came in after us was seated first. I brought it up to my boyfriend and he says don’t worry about it and we’ll get seated first. This restaurant is first come, first serve.
