monsieur marcel @ Farmer's Market



I went to the Farmer's Markets birthday a few weeks back.

While the hubby and brother got some mexican food, a girlfriend and I decided to splurge and get food at monsieur marcel. We ordered a few dishes to share.

The salad d'endives au roquefort was delish and crunchy. I loved the spinach quiche - so flavorful and fluffy. The cheese plate we got was amazing, but then I'm biased since I love all kinds of cheese. The steak tartare was okay - maybe because I wasn't digging the raw meat. I'll definitely go back again though. Yum!

Fire Safety Tips

It’s been about a month since my family and I survived a house fire. It's been a roller coaster of ups and downs. I feel optimistic and very thankful to survive and recover from my injuries. Racist Episodes

Upon reflecting on racism in my life, a few key episodes stick out in my mind. Denmark - My first encounter with racists was in high school when I stayed with a home stay family. They made me feel unwelcome for being an Asian American and kept saying they wish they got an American student, but in my mind I was an American study. They kept inquiring where was I from & I said I’m from California. I complained to the group chaperone and was quickly switched to a more welcoming home stay family and able to have a better experience. Denver - I was on a date with my boyfriend/now husband waiting for our table at a restaurant. I noticed subtle racist Behavior when a white couple who came in after us was seated first. I brought it up to my boyfriend and he says don’t worry about it and we’ll get seated first. This restaurant is first come, first serve.
