Balboa ferry

My dad first took me to the Balboa ferry when I was little. Now that I have a little one, I want her to have the same experience. One boring Friday, we decided to check out the peninsula. We went on the ferry as passengers for $1 one way. Whoo hoo! You can't beat that view for a million bucks. This place is a definite must see for kiddies and out of towners. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Top of the world

My brother took me, my cousin and baby to this scenic spot in laguna beach a few weeks ago. It's called Top of the World with panoramic views of OC. It's a hiking spot too. To get here, google map 3299 Alta laguna blvd in laguna beach. Have fun! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Au Coeur de Paris

I was in the mood for macaroons so yelp'ed a place to try and found this Au Coeur de Paris bakery near my house. They had several flavors - pistachio, chocolate, raspberry, coffee, and hazelnut. I got 2 of each for $1.25 each to share with my family. They were light and airy with a subtle flavor. I will tell my fellow foodies about this place. Yum! - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Tanaka Farms

I went on a great mommy meetup and went to Tanaka Farms in Irvine for a watermelon tour. For $15, you ride a tractor in the 30 acre farm and try fresh crops along the way. We tried corn, green beans, and tomatoes to name a few. Last but not least, we went to a hut to try cantaloupe, cucumber and watermelon. We even picked a watermelon to take home. Baby loved the watermelon part of the tour. I definitely recommend Tanaka Farms for your next outing. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Banana Cabana

I read about Banana Cabana in Fountain Valley on Yelp and have been meaning to try it out. Baby and I finally tried it last week. Split pea soup for her and veggie avocado sandwich for me. Yum! I also got a banana date shake. Everything was delicious. I'll definite be returning and bringing my mom. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

@auntiesfrybread @longboards

The other food I tried at the Long Beach festival was auntie's Fry bread. Pictured is Native American bread topped with bbq pork and cole slaw. The bread reminds me of a soft pretzel. Delish! Last but not least, hubby and I shared Longboards ice cream. We got vanilla dipped in dark chocolate and topped with peanuts. Definitely worth four bucks. Sometimes, this truck is with Dogzilla at Asian Garden Mall on Wednesdays. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

The crowd The famous nom nom truck Love the graf art on this truck Last Saturday, we went to the Long beach street food festival and met up with friends. The Rainbow Lagoon was a perfect park to hold 30 trucks. It didn't feel crowded at all. We were blessed with good weather to walk around and people watch. I saw lots of Korean trucks and eyed anh joon's truck of Korean pub fare. I briefly watched chef Debbie on food network so her food intrigued me. I got two skewers to share. Anh joon truck Fried chicken with chili sauce Rice cake wrapped in bacon with ponzu sauce Both were yummy! She should open a restaurant in OC. Next was The SWeets Truck that I've been following in Twitter. I don't recall the exact names but I got a cupcake and s'mores cookie sandwich. The deconstructed cupcake was interesting, though I prefer regular cupcakes. My hubby liked it a lot. Excuse the poor photo but this cookie was delish. Definitely should be tried by all. Stay tu
