MAGIC: Recap & photo diary

Hope you enjoyed my blog posts on MAGIC this week. I'll conclude with a recap and photo diary of my time in Las Vegas last week.

Day 1:
It was 108 outside and I had to walk across the street to Excalibur to catch the tram to Mandalay. I had read about the POOL trade show was geared for boutiques and thought it would apply for Serene Sky. I wore a comfy romper and flats for all the walking I knew I would be doing. It was so fun going to Mandalay. You could tell who was part of MAGIC because they were fashionably dressed. I struck up a conversation with a British guy living in Texas who is starting his own styling boutique while I was walking to Mandalay. He was there to check menswear. The POOL trade show was awesome. There were a lot of jewelry designers to see and meet for my boutique. I even had time to go to the American Apparel booth for a little mani. I got some cool burnt orange nails there. Mandalay had many trade shows going on from POOL, ENKVegas, Project, and Tents. I stumbled into Project and was amazed at all the mens fashion going on and super elaborate booths from brands. My afternoon ended at the Las Vegas Convention Center where I attended a Facebook marketing seminar. It was pretty cool being in a room with all these people interested in social media like me. It was end of day so I didn't have a chance to check out WWDMAGIC or Sourcing. I would save that for Day 2.

Day 2: My business partner joined me for MAGIC. Yay! We took the monorail to LVCC. It was super hot, of course. We decided to check out the floor late morning so we can scout jewelry at WWDMAGIC. Man, WWDMAGIC was so huge. It was very easy to get distracted and stumble on the rows of fashion and trends everywhere. We also attended some seminars on e-commerce and social marketing too.

Day 3:
We finally took advantage of the MAGIC shuttles that they provide at our hotel. This day would be a half day for us as we would check out POOL and see our favorites in person again. We also went back to the LVCC to check one last e-commerce seminar before I hit the road.

Overall, I recommend MAGIC MARKET WEEK. It's a great way to discover brands, network with other fashionistas, and attend seminars applicable to fashion. I do wish I had more time to meet fellow bloggers but I guess that will be next time.
